The Effect of Horse Riding Machine Exercise on Attention and Balance in Children with ADHD

Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of horse riding machine exercise on attention and balance in children with ADHD.

METHOD: Ten children with ADHD participated in this experiment. Subjects performed Horse riding machine exercise for 45 minutes a day, Monday through Friday, for 6 weeks. The effect of Horse riding machine exercise was evaluated by measurements of CNT for attention and Biorescue for balance. The data obtained before and after the exercise was analyzed statistically by using paired t-test.

RESULT: The results of this study were as follows: 1. The horse riding exercise for children with ADHD significantly increased the visual attention and auditory attention(p<.05). 2. The horse riding exercise for children with ADHD significantly increased balance with eye open position and eye closed position(p<.05).

CONCLUSION: Therefore, these results indicate that the horse riding machine exercise improves attention and balance in children with ADHD.
